Janice got into the real estate industry in 1982 as a sales associate for Coldwell Banker Phyllis Rubin Real Estate in the Poconos. After acquiring her associate broker's license she became a branch manager and a trainer for the company. In 1991 she was sent to a management retreat in New Jersey where she met Nick Kavounas, also a real estate associate broker. In 1992 she was sent to a management retreat in New Jersey where she met Nick Kavounas, also a real estate associate broker. Janice moved to the Lehigh Valley to join Nick's firm, Coldwell Banker Heritage Real Estate in 1992 and the two were married in 1993. Janice served as a manager, trainer and, at one time, the advertising director. She currently is the vice president of operations overseeing the accounting department, facility operations and HR as well as working with personally referred clients. In addition to this, she is the administrator of Lehigh Valley Real Estate Institute, responsible for course development, scheduling and general administration. She also teaches from time to time. Janice is the mother of two, Alex, who resides in Kutztown, and Melissa who is deceased from cancer and heart disease. She is an outdoors kind of gal and enjoys time spent with family, traveling, camping, hiking, skiing and cooking. She is the Treasurer of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Task Force in the Lehigh Valley. While not 100% fluent in sign language, she can communicate with people in the Deaf Community. She believes all clients are entitled to honesty, integrity, diligence, respect and fairness.
